Well done, Ma! So, I have 10 lbs. of baby weight left. Well, actually only 8 plus 2 extra that I want to lose. Baby is 3 months old now. How aggressively can I try now to lose it or do you think I need to wait still?

you can eat a seriously low carb diet with only good effect, and that MIGHT do it. but you need all your fat and protein--no calorie restriction--to make milk.

My experience with later kids was that it was very difficult to lose that last bit until the baby is weaned. From nature's view, your milk supply, and hence the baby's survival, would be jeopardized without that store of fat in case of famine. So the hormonal climate is fighting against your efforts.

The only way to effect that loss is to simulate famine--which may not be all that good for YOUR health! your body would rob the stores of fat all right--but the extra nutrients and calories released would tend to go towards making milk--not nourishing YOU.

My opinion is that you should try eating a diet low enough in carb to keep your blood sugar low and steady. Lots of good protein and fat with no junk fat or sugar, and the weight will come off slowly--with a final bit once you wean. You may still have 10 pounds to lose but you look great, so no worries!
