what a year

I CANNOT  believe it has been 6 months since I posted.  On the other hand...so much has happened that I cannot believe that it has all happened in only 6 months!!!

in no particular order of importance

performed in 2 shows since Road to Mecca
ended my relationship with Seymour
moved into new apartment
started new day job as a nanny
accepted a job in Omaha for 2 months as Aunt March in Little
   Women, starting in January
Started dating a lovely new man.

two shows
First was Death by Design--an Agatha Christie like comedy/mystery.  Great fun playing the Irish maid that solves the murder.

next was a family drama about Alzheimer's and dying and end of life choice ( i.e. assisted suicide)
just a little light entertainment...not.  VERY challenging role for me as the wife of a man determined to die at a time his own choosing--wonderful work by all involved excellent reviews and audience reactions

next,  in May Seymour and I Acknowledged that our relationship had changed to a friendship, not a partnership and that it was time for us to change our living situation to reflect that.  it had been a long time coming-- and was very difficult face for me at times-- but has been a very good move for me.

so.. i had to get my finances/employment in order and find an apt all of which finally came together in September and I moved into my own little place.  i love i!!! still not completely done moving--i had a lot of stuff at Seymour's and my new place is tiny--but baby steps and I'm getting there

i have been working as a nanny and it has been good but I'm leaving that position to go to Omaha to do a show with the Nebraska theatre caravan--a gig I booked through the auditions in February.  more hard choices as I'm not sure what I will be doing to earn my rent when I get back but must have Faith in myself that it will all come together!

And last I've started Dating again--a lovely man Bob, that I have known for several years: we were in Harvey together back in 2011, and then is several shows over the years. when We first met we were both in long term relationships, then his ended, then mine ended and we ran into each other again in late summer and have been seeing each other ever since.   Very nice.  Weird to be just dating after living with someone--but we have so much fun together it is just perfect for now.

2014 post Germany

Once back home I settled in to a bunch of auditions--Memphis UPTA'S and then off to NYC to audition for the National Tour of Annie and then back to Denver where I  won the part of miss Helen in the Road to Mecca.  this production was VERY close to my heart.  one of the PREMIER EXPERIENCES OF MY THEATRE CAREER.  director Len Matheo and my castmates Miriam BC Tobin and Tim Fishbaugh all contributed so much to the specialness of this show.

here are a few pics
all the photos are by the wonderful Sarah Roshan

next up on our Germany adventure--the Christmas Markets!!!!  we went to four different cities Christmarkts-- Nuremberg, Ansbach, Dinklesbuhl, and Rothenburg!  I bought myself a Pyramide at the Nuremberg Markt--probably the most famous one though some of the others are older.    there are documents of Christmarkts in Nuremberg going back to the 1400s.  Rothenburg dates from even earlier It's just a big outdoor shopping extravaganza--but with specialty food and GLUWEIN!!!!  Each city/region has their own special  wurst recipe going back through medieval times--best Wurst-- Nuremburger Wurstchen!!!!  yummy!

dinklesbuhl

more pics from Germany.  These are from Dinklesbuhl, another walled medieval town.  the name means dinkles hill  dinkles was apparently the name of a farmer in the far distant past.

German Christmas part 1

so I was in Germany December 10th to January 10th, living in  a little village called Petersaurach with Ashley--she is in the army there at Katterbach military post-- in between Ansbach and Nuremberg in Bavaria.  Our first field trip was to Rothenburg ob der Taube--a medieval walled town pretty much unchanged since about 1500. a few pics from our first trip there--we went twice because we loved it so much!.
this is NOT a picture I took, but is one of the most famous views in Rothenburg--and I DIDN"T get a good picture of it,

stairs leading up to the walkway around the wall.  where the sentries and soldiers would walk to protect the town
